Short Description: Commodities markets editor job within publishing division of leading research consultancy offering pathway to consulting career or senior editorship.

Salary: £35,000 - £42,000
Job Role: News Reporter
Description:

Our client is an established business analysis and consulting group with a thriving news and information division providing pricing and market data, forecasts and market analysis within the commodities markets and primary industries.

This post involves covering the global markets for ammonia and potash involving daily price and news reporting as well as weekly in-depth analysis and forecasting. It will also lead to the production of a quarterly forecast of the potash market.

*  Reporting directly to the publisher and working with a team of six people, some of whom are outside the UK. The candidate would also work within a wider group of consultants who analyse the fertilizer markets

Skills required
*  A degree in economics, science, journalism or languages is preferred, but not essentia
*  A markets analyst, preferably with a background in fertilizers, metals, petrochemicals, oil and gas or other related commodities and/or shipping

*  Analytical skills, experience/understanding of economics or commodities markets is essential
*  A high level of energy and commitment is required as well as the ability to adapt and work with different levels of people
*  Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is essential

"Dear Allan
I was a little apprehensive about using an agency to find someone to replace me as Editor of Dorset Life, a critical appointment in a small but successful company. However, I have been more than happy with the outcome: a final shortlist of two excellent candidates, either of whom we felt we could have appointed with confidence.
I must thank you for your efficient and courteous handling of this search. It has been a pleasure to deal with you because of what came across as your genuine interest in what we were trying to achieve and your concern to find the right person to help us achieve it.  Our dealings on the business side of our relationship have been nothing but cordial.
It have been an exhaustive (not to say exhausting!) process, but, largely thanks to you, an enjoyable one with a successful outcome."
