Job Details

This is a varied role with a focus on writing features based on original research and interviews with regional and national contacts.  You will also write occasional news analysis and have an underlying brief to identify stories for the newsdesk.

The successful candidate will be joining a talented team of  journalists, many of whose predecessors have seen rapid promotion to more senior editorial posts as well as to correspondent roles on national newspapers.

Responsibilities

*  Planning, researching and writing features for the magazine and its supplements.

*  Identifying and writing news

*  Writing news analysis

*  Deputising for the features editor

*  Supervising the work of less senior writers

*  Editing copy when required

*  Travel to interview contacts and attend events

Requirements

*  Star-quality writing skills demonstrated by a portfolio of well-written, incisive copy

*  Experience as a journalist and familiarity with the information needs of a business audience

*  Genuine interest in the economic, social and political forces that shape the public sector

*  Strong intellect, curiosity and capacity for lateral thinking

*  Confident and articulate verbal skills
