Our Services

We offer employers three different service options.

Contingency Search

This is the most common option for employers needing to recruit editorial staff. Employers choose this approach because we agree to accept the assignment on a 'no success, no fee basis'. You only pay if we succeed in introducing a candidate who you subsequently employ as a result. We work to a standard set of Terms and Conditions which outlines the fee you will pay on successful appointment. Please contact us for details of this service. We may already be on your company’s preferred supplier list.

Executive Search

Individuals in senior posts or in specialist fields of work often don’t actively look for other opportunities. This can be for several reasons. They may feel amply rewarded for what they do, believe they already have the best job, expect their next move to be an internal move, imagine suitable jobs will rarely emerge or indeed, if they’re really good, expect to be approached. Even when they do look around, they may feel less inclined to apply for another job for fear of exposing themselves in the market.

With this service, we research the market to identify potential targets and make a discreet approach to establish the individual’s potential interest in the job. Some people may already be known to us or be recommended by our network of contacts in the market. Others will emerge through exhaustive desk research.

In some cases, employers will already know of people in the market but for a variety of reasons not want to make a direct approach themselves. This may be because they want their identity and their plans to remain secret and therefore want us to sound out people before revealing their hand. Please contact us for details of our fees for this service.

Advertised Search

Most contingency assignments we take on involve us advertising vacancies and shouldering the cost of that advertising. However, there are occasions when candidates could potentially emerge from other areas outside the sector. In such cases, it may be necessary to plan an advertising campaign in publications and industry websites serving other audiences to allow such candidates to identify themselves as suitable for a job. Other reasons for using advertised search can be to offer the dual purpose of making an industry announcement about an impending launch. It also offers the ability to advertise several vacancies at once. Please contact us for details of our fees for this service.

"Dear Allan
I was a little apprehensive about using an agency to find someone to replace me as Editor of Dorset Life, a critical appointment in a small but successful company. However, I have been more than happy with the outcome: a final shortlist of two excellent candidates, either of whom we felt we could have appointed with confidence.
I must thank you for your efficient and courteous handling of this search. It has been a pleasure to deal with you because of what came across as your genuine interest in what we were trying to achieve and your concern to find the right person to help us achieve it.  Our dealings on the business side of our relationship have been nothing but cordial.
It have been an exhaustive (not to say exhausting!) process, but, largely thanks to you, an enjoyable one with a successful outcome."
