Allan Cross - Director and Founder

Allan set up The Media Network is 1989 following six years with EMAP where, in his latter role as the publisher of two TV industry magazines, he had direct responsibility for recruiting and directing a 22-strong team across editorial, marketing and advertising sales. Twenty years later, he has probably interviewed more journalists than anyone else in the industry. He’s also had the privilege of learning about the publishing strategies and models of a wide range of companies where the editorial component is an essential part of the business. Allan continues to work with clients to help them fill editorial vacancies at all levels.

Out of work he sings contemporary rock and pop classics in a 45-strong choir, dunks himself and his kids in the bracing waters off Brighton beach and, when there’s a game going, gets out his tennis racket or golf clubs.

Odette Beris Msc (C. Psychol) - Senior Consultant, Testing & Coaching

Odette is an independent Chartered Psychologist, an Organisational Psychologist and Coach. She has worked in-house at the BBC as an Organisational Psychologist, where she trained as a BBC coach.

Much of her work has involved profiling candidates for jobs and for career development purposes. She has a bank of experience in designing and delivering assessment centres across the BBC.

She is trained to use a wide variety of personality profiling tools. Before training to be a business psychologist, Odette recruited and head-hunted journalists for the publishing and new media industry. She is energised by working in a supportive partnership with clients to encourage them to map out and create a vision of their future path that they can feel excited about!
