The London Paper to Close
According to a report on The Guardian's media website, News International has announced plans to close The London Paper. James Murdoch, the chairman and chief executive of News Corporation Europe and Asia is quoted as saying "The strategy at News International over the past 18 months has been to streamline our operations and focus investment on our core titles" He goes on to say that the performance of the The London Paper had fallen short of expectations despite the team at the London Paper having made great strides in a short space of time with innovative design and a fresh approach.
About 60 people at News International are thought to be affected by the decision.
